Zero Tolerance for Abuse
Purpose
This Community Safety Policy outlines our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants, partners, volunteers, staff, and beneficiaries of the Child Abuse Community Training (Child A.C.T.) program. This policy applies to both online and offline interactions and activities.
Policy Statement
Child A.C.T. is committed to fostering a culture of safety and zero tolerance for abuse, harassment, discrimination, or any behavior that jeopardizes the well-being and dignity of individuals in our community. We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe and respected, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, religion, or background.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals associated with Child A.C.T., including but not limited to:
- Program participants
- Volunteers
- Staff and trainers
- Partner organisations
- Beneficiaries and their families
It covers all interactions, whether in person or through digital platforms, including social media, emails, messaging apps, and online forums.
Code of Conduct
- Respect and Inclusivity
- Treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
- Avoid language or behavior that is discriminatory, demeaning, or offensive.
- Zero Tolerance for Abuse
- Child A.C.T. strictly prohibits all forms of abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, and online abuse.
- Any form of bullying, harassment, or intimidation will not be tolerated.
- Safe Communication
- Use appropriate and professional language in all interactions.
- Avoid sharing sensitive personal information about others without consent.
- Boundaries and Consent
- Respect personal and professional boundaries at all times.
- Seek explicit consent before engaging in activities that involve others, such as taking photos or recording conversations.
- Accountability
- Report any violations of this policy to the designated safeguarding officer or authority.
- Cooperate with investigations into alleged misconduct.
Online Community Guidelines
- Appropriate Use
- Use online platforms responsibly and for purposes aligned with the goals of Child A.C.T.
- Refrain from posting content that is harmful, inappropriate, or irrelevant.
- Privacy Protection
- Do not share personal or sensitive information about yourself or others without consent.
- Respect confidentiality in all online discussions.
- Reporting Abuse
- Report any online abuse, cyberbullying, or suspicious activity to the program administrator immediately.
Offline Community Guidelines
- Safe Spaces
- Ensure that all Child A.C.T. activities take place in safe, accessible, and welcoming environments.
- Be vigilant about the safety of participants, especially minors and vulnerable individuals.
- Supervision and Monitoring
- Ensure adequate supervision during activities to prevent misconduct or accidents.
- Address any safety concerns promptly.
- Emergency Procedures
- Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols and contacts.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies.
Reporting and Response
- Reporting Channels
- Any concerns or incidents related to this policy can be reported to the safeguarding officer via childactmy@gmail.com with the subject line REPORT.
- Reports can also be made anonymously if preferred.
- Investigation Process
- All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly, fairly, and confidentially.
- Appropriate actions, including disciplinary measures, will be taken based on the findings.
- Support for Victims
- Child A.C.T. will provide support and resources to individuals affected by abuse or misconduct.
- This includes access to counseling services, referrals, and advocacy.
Policy Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessary to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Updates will be communicated to all stakeholders.
